why do these people hate america so much?

good grief.  this man and his tragic wife are on my last nerve and we still have 3 months until the election.  so get this:  at a campaign stop in Elkhart, Indiana, a seven-year-old girl asked obama why he wants to be president — and he told her that America has gone downhill.  really.  he said that to a 7 yo.  here’s the youtube:

“America is …, uh, is no longer, uh … what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself, I don’t want that future for my children.”

remember when his tragic wife said something quite similar in the early days of the campaign?

“Sometimes it’s easier to hold onto your own stereotypes and misconceptions. It makes you feel justified in your ignorance. That’s America.”

just another example of the smooth talker obama, away from the teleprompter, and putting his foot directly in his mouth.  he’s not selling hope or change, he’s selling despair and socialism along with that nutty wife.

he’s puffing himself as the “snake oil” that will cure us of all our ills.  his messiah complex is incredible isn’t it?

UPDATE: i’m glad to see so many of you with such strong “opinions.”  rush weighed in on this subject today on his radio show.  here’s the youtube.  it’s good.

UPDATE 2:  8/8/08 - and wouldn’t you know team obama brings out the bitter, tragic wife.  they plop her down in a nice, safe classroom yesterday full of little kids for a nice, safe photo op and dang if a 7 yo boy didn’t give her a foreign policy lesson on iraq!  you can go here to watch the video.

“yes we can pooh!”

“the view” starring guest host michelle obama, part 2:  so yesterday matthew broderick (one of my favorite actors) was a guest on the view. as the ladies were chatting away with him, he said that his son who is what, 5 (?) is an obama fan.  he is???!?  matthew broderick went on to say this:

“He really follows the election and he really takes to your husband.”

and the bright and charming michelle said in response:

“You know, kids are drawn to Barack.  I think it’s because his name is easy to say.”

good grief.  add this moment of brillance to the column for why First Lady’s really do matter!  and note that now not only does he have the youth vote locked up as i have previously blogged about here, but he also can count on the pre-school bloc as well.  fist bumps people!

i know it’s almost blasphemous to mess with pooh but a big hat tip to the good patriots at american elephants for this nifty pic that i ripped.  sweet isn’t it?

“it’s fun to look pretty!”

panty hose or not?   hmmm.  that’s a tough question for the would be first lady.

oh and michelle?  you are no jackie kennedy even though the view divas and others in the mainstream media would like to make you so.  newly madeover or not.

nope.  bitter is bitter.  not gonna work.

michelle obama: the gift that keeps on giving

we all know about michelle’s propensity to be well, ‘bitter‘.  we also know she can put her foot in her mouth - chronically carping with the best of them !

so after all of these incidents, michelle has been very low-key as one of barry’s surrogates.  however yesterday the campaign made sure she had a nice, soft re-enty into the spot light when she introduced her candidate husband to about 40 elderly people at the Oakleaf Village retirement center in Columbus, Ohio. the would-be first lady quickly had the roomful of grandparents chuckling and applauding as she managed to praise them along with her husband and their two daughters while tying the anecdotes to her husband’s theme of the day, retirement security.

in her four-minute speech, michelle obama also burnished her extensive *cough* patriotic credentials, which have come under attack from various critics by saying this about the birth of their 11 yo daughter malia:

“(she) will be 10 on the Fourth of July. Yes, we planned it that way. I cooperated. I was supposed to have her on July 1, but I waited, because my daughter would be more historic.”

that is incredibly lame.  i feel so much better about her now.  don’t you?
