oh goodie!

sometimes life can be so satisfying!

news came today that hillary’s name is going to be put into nomination along side obambi’s at the democratic national convention.

you can read the dems unity statement here.  :smirk:  anyone who thinks this is about unity is nutz.  its all about appeasement — the democrats middle name.  appeasing hillary and her 18 million votes.  she wants assurance that SHE is the reason for unity not barry and his pretty speeches.

so what does barry have to say about all of this?  this is from the ap:

“I’m letting our respective teams work out details,” he said. Asked if that meant he wouldn’t object to her name being placed in nomination and a vote taken, Obama said: “I didn’t say that. I said that they’re working it out.”

isn’t that delicious?  and of course what is PUMA saying about this?  i am sure there will be some statement soon and when i get it, so will you.

frankly i can’t wait to watch the democratic convention!

be careful what you ink for

sometimes we do things on impulse - stupid things we regret later.

i read somewhere of someone who got an elaborate tattoo all over their entire back — and then regretted it later during swimsuit season.  and even i, who have this great fear of sharp, pointy things figured that maybe one day – like on a significant birthday — i too would get a tattoo.  nothing horrid mind you, just something small and cute.  but the realization of having to endure those sharp metal things constantly poking my flesh for possibly hours at a time does wonders for my reality check.

and then of course there is also the reality check of public scrutiny and possible ridicule of one’s tattoo.  that works for me as well but obviously not for the poor thigh of impulsive Luis Salgado:

sometimes people get dumb tatts and really regret them later.  um well, Luis was unavailable for comment.  snap.

ok, so caption it!

as is my custom on primary day, i have a simply delicious picture to caption while we wait for the results of the south dakota and montana primaries.  have fun!

by all accounts, obama will win today.  and according to the AP  hillary will somehow admit, tonight from new york, that obama has the required number of delegates to fully assume the nomination for the dems.   and as you can guess, the Hillary camp deny the AP report.    cry uncle already….

swillin’ and clubbin’

the last days of hillary’s waning ‘08 presidential bid have been pretty interesting.  first there was this little video taken when she was campaigning in puerto rico last weekend:

and then these unbelievable pics from earlier in the week while campaigning in south dakota.  the pics are courtesy of her diehard fans (?) at the AP

and hey, that’s not orange juice in her glass either.

so could these little “walk on the wild side” moments of hillary’s simply be what she is like in real life — as opposed to that cold, icy, matronly woman we have come to know over the last 2 decades?   or could they be the final transparent glimpses into the life of a losing candidate who is relieved it’s all almost over?   or could it be her operatives’ calculations to further humanize a desperate political bulwark who sees the long, prophesized return of a dynasty to the white house, completely and finally slipping away?

who knows.  i just think they’re great fun to look at.  cheers hillary!

ON ANOTHER NOTE

dem veep stakes

obama & clinton in ‘08.  is this dream team or just a bad dream?  this won’t happen.  especially since one of the best jokes around is obama better employ a trusted food taster if he picks her for his veep!  here are my thoughts …

obama’s take:  well obama seems quite put out with hillary for a variety of reasons including the fact that he has had the nomination locked up for weeks (i guess he doesn’t like end runs!).  he also hates that he should be asked tough questions about his associations like every other candidate (republicans), i mean after all is he not the messiah? obama is also put out that hillary has also played the race card against him numerous times which he thinks is one of the reasons his numbers with white males is in the toity.  and really, he thinks, how can he be a racist??  he’s black for gosh sakes!  *coughSHARPTONcough*  *coughJACKSONcough*

hillary’s take:  she can’t believe this upstart rookie has actually taken THE PRIZE away from her and prevented the clampetts oops i mean clintons from going back where they belong: the White House.  it was to be her coronation after all — remember?  and then there was that little dust up with bill in south carolina…  i am sure she feels that obama’s people are to blame for the loss of respect and esteem for the former president.

but wait!  the flipside?  there is “my precious” — the gold ring — the allure of power, history, legacy.  ok the vice presidency.  sometimes this is like the balm of gilead soothing wounds and making the impossible, possible.  click here to see what that sear of ABC politics, george stephanopolis thinks.

so the upshot is the only way obama will put hillary on the ticket is if it was determined he couldn’t beat mccain without her.  period.

the best gift for obama would be that obligatory pic of the 2 of them together — once bitter rivals — now hands clasped and raised in unity at the convention in denver.  blech.

he’ll most likely get that pic.  once he’s the official nominee, there will be a hard court press to pull the 2 sides together.  expect clinton’s more prominent supporters, like ed rendell, to have prime time speaking slots during the convention.  i also imagine that some clinton staffers will be given high profile positions in obama’s campaign as well.  everything will be done to present a totally unified party…

…except making hillary the veep.

the republican players for veep coming soon!

so what’s your super power?

what would your super power be if you had one?  i took an online quiz and here are my results:

Your Superpower Should Be Manipulating Electricity

You’re highly reactive, energetic, and super charged.
If the occasion calls for it, you can go from 0 to 60 in a split second.
But you don’t harness your energy unless you truly need to.
And because of this, people are often surprised by what you are capable of.

Why you would be a good superhero: You have the stamina to fight enemies for days

Your biggest problem as a superhero: As with your normal life, people would continue to underestimate you

you can take the quiz too!  check out this website :  What Should Your Superpower Be?   and um, we already know what our presidential candidates’ superpowers are.  yep.

h/t for the wonderhill pic to my friend flora at flora’s life .  hillary’s never looked so good!   :P
