obama disses troops again

his campaign staff told the veterans that he had a prior engagement and couldn't meet with the 6,000 veterans, service members and families at Fort Hood, Texas. He decided to go to Hawaii on vacation instead.

the weekly standard said this:

Last month, Obama refused to do a military townhall for 6,000 veterans, service members, and military families at Fort Hood, Texas. That event would have taken place tonight, but Obama spokesman, Phillip Carter, said at the time Obama couldn't make it because “we unfortunately had a previously scheduled commitment on the date proposed.” But Obama doesn't have another event scheduled for this evening -- he's busy bodyboarding in Hawaii.

but of course obama is being smeared here by right wingers. we all know that meeting with the troops is his absolute favorite thing to do!

finish the job

vets for freedom is launching a million dollar ad campaign called "Four Months, For Victory." the campaign will produce several videos for cable tv over the next 4 months advocating finishing the job our military started in Iraq and Afghanistan by not being pulled out early depending on which man is elected president.

the first ad is entitled "Finish the Job" and features 8 veterans and 1 Blue Star mom. check it out:

terrific isn't it? they don't even mention obama or mccain. i like that! to them, it's definately a bigger cause then a policy debate.

you can help support this effort by going here and contributing. helping vets for freedom will ensure that America's strategy in Iraq, Afghanistan and the overall War on Terror is supported here at home. you can bet that groups like moveon.org, who have the ear of such stellar politicians as nancy pelosi and harry reid, are plotting and planning to do all they can to undermine the war effort as we get closer to the election.

vets for freedom are also helping vets who are running for political office. i have blogged about this on a number of occasions. go here to see their list of endorsements.

this is an amazingly fearless group and deserves our support!

defenders of our liberty

the courage and heroism of our military is blogged about often here.

as we approach the 4th of July - America's Independence Day - they are one big factor in why after 232 years, we still enjoy our liberty. i chose a couple of things about them to highlight today as we gear up here at home to celebrate freedom.

you may have seen this here before but it is so good (produced by an active duty marine) it deserves a replay. turn up your sound, its nickleback.

join us "from the frontlines"

"From the Front Lines" is a terrific web event today beginning at 4 pm eastern / 1 pm pacific to 12 midnight eastern / 9 pm pacific. it will be a livestreamed, 8-hour fund-raising "web-a-thon" with a goal to raise enough money - $500,000 - to send fabulous care packages to every US armed service unit stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan in time for the 4th of July.

i blogged on this effort a while back and it's the brain child of melanie morgan of move america forward, michelle malkin, great blogger, and ustream. the web-a-thon boasts an impressive line-up with all my favorite talk radio peeps including rush, sean, laura, and mark levin just to name a few.

also participating will be an array of military bloggers; interviews with troops in the field and their families stateside; a host of other notable people including marcus luttrell, former navy SEAL and author of “Lone Survivor”; and a special report from the office of Gen. David Petraeus, the architect of “the surge” which has helped stabilize Iraq. guests will appear via skype or webcam, some during their radio shows.

the hags from code pink at it again!

well the witches in pink are at it again.

this past weekend code pink decided to hold another one of their countless protests at the berkeley marine recruiting center. yep, the hags were classy enough to disrupt a eulogy a gold star mom was giving for her son. and with the code pink hags, were those ever popular "World Can’t Wait" anarchists showed their class by throwing nazi salutes and booing the national anthem. here's some pics and a vid from zombie:

but the good news is there was indeed a counter protest. good americans were there, from motorcycle clubs to kids and their moms, standing in support of our marines, this country, and yes the moonbat's freedom of speech.

it's incredibly cool to be patriotic. it's always right to support our troops.

the american military is simply terrific

today i want to highlight a number of really great things that are happening in the lives of our american service men and women. FIRST: vets for freedom! they are an awesome group that i have blogged about frequently.

vets for freedom is taking donations to help elect good freedom-loving veterans to Congress.

vets for freedom pac will be actively and aggressively supporting candidates—mostly veterans—who believe in achieving success in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the overall War on Terrorism. To that end, we’re proud to announce our initial slate of candidates—and we hope you will help us raise the money to support them. Our guys include:

Steve Stivers (OH-15) is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard who was awarded the Bronze Star for actions in OIF and is already impressing voters in Ohio.

David Bellavia (NY-26) is a recipient of both the Silver and Bronze Stars for Valor, and nominated for the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during the Battle of Fallujah in 2004. David helped found Vets for Freedom and will fight for all of us in Congress.

Lee Zeldin (NY-1) served in Iraq with the 82nd Airborne Division and continues to serve as a Captain in the Army Reserves.

Tom Rooney (FL-16) served as an Army JAG for four years before teaching Constitutional and Criminal Law at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Duncan Hunter (CA-52) signed up to serve our country the day after September 11th, and served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan with the United States Marine Corps. He remains in the Marine Reserves. * and yes this is the awesome Rep. Duncan Hunter's son *

all five of these men have worn the uniform, understand what is at stake in the global war on terrorism, and will fight for victory if elected to congress. if we are serious about winning and bringing our troops home, here is a great place to invest your support both financially and with your vote.

pink pointy hats

those pink moonbats have outdone themselves this time! the ridiculous hags of code pink are now, in desperation, casting spells on the Marines they have been protesting in Berkeley for eons now.

they say this is simply a recruitment effort to increase their numbers of supporters protesting Berkeley's controversial Marine Corp Recruitment Center - Semper Fi!

the women's anti-war group has told ralliers to come equipped with spells and pointy hats *coughpublicitygimmickcough* today for "Witches, Clowns and Sirens Day" -- the last of the group's weeklong "homage" to Mother's Day. oh please!

head moonbat for code pink in the bay area, Zanne Sam Joi told FOXNEWS "women are coming to cast spells and do rituals and to impart wisdom to figure out how we're going to end war."

this week has been full of pink-themed protests in honor of Mother's Day which included days to "galvanize grannies" and the ever popular "bring-your-junior-female-moonbat-to-protest" day. these however didn't do much to boost their lowering numbers. *smirk*

recruiter Capt. John Paul Wheatcroft said he's unfazed by code pink's antics. "They're always in pink and wear funny things, half-shaved heads, one side with hair and the other one bald, yeah, I'm pretty much used to anything." he told FOXNEWS.

UPDATE: can the space around these moonbats get any more bizarro? it seems Chris F. a "pagan" and 12 yr. armed forces veteran is appalled at the pink coven's recent activities. he said, "These Code Twit girls are so full of it, it’s ridiculous. I’m half tempted to sue them for religious slander and a hate crime against pagans for acting like such idiots."

general petraeus, american hero

we all remember this despicable ad placed in the NYT the day before general petraeus' testimony 6 mos. ago before congress:

general petraeus became the victim of inexcusible personal and quite vicious attacks from the whackos at moveon.org and other ultra-liberal groups.

well, senator mitch mcconnell, (R) ky has provided a forum to say thanks from all of us who appreciate the hard work and sacrifice of this american hero. the senator has created a page on his campaign website where people can show their gratitude for Petraeus’ accomplishments in Iraq.

go there and sign the card. by the way, as the hearing progresses, i will be adding updates as needed especially if the code pinkos act stupid. hehe

and if you are interested, Tom Elia is keeping a protester interruption scorecard. :P

update: another mccain senior moment confusing sunni and shia again. oy.

update: joe liebermann said this in response to the nay-saying windbags on the (D) side "Their attitude is 'Hear no progress in Iraq, see no progress in Iraq, speak of no progress in Iraq.' I wish we could have agreement on the charts you have shown, the facts you have told us…we’ve got to give some credit for that.” wtg joe.

heartbreak

i believed he was still alive. maybe. it seemed like a hopeful thing to do for his family, friends; those who loved and missed him.

"...Keith Maupin confirmed this afternoon that the remains of his son, Matt Maupin, have been identified by the army in Iraq.

In a statement Keith said "We are proud of the continued efforts of the military and the army to return Matt to us. We must now work on efforts to return Matt."

"Please keep the military and our family in your prayers." Carolyn Maupin, Matt's mother said, "Thanks to everyone for their prayers and continued strength of the family." "It hurts after four years of hope and this is what happens it is like a let down for me and I'm trying to get thru that right now."

"Pray. This is going to be very difficult and stay by our side in support." Keith said that the family was informed by a three star general. the body was identified by the D-N-A remains. (according to his hometown news station)

i had a thud in my stomach when he first went missing. i saw the news reports -- the ominous hooded men behind him. i read stories about him -- what a great kid he was, hs football player, fun loving, really nice guy... and i've prayed for him - his safety and well being and his family's strength for a long time. i felt as if in some ways i knew him and so wanted him to come home and continue his wonderful life.
