off with barbie's head!

pack your bags, blondie.

it's time for you to hit the road or it's off with your head.  or at least your head will be covered...

we knew this was coming didn't we?  the nutz, oops, regime in Iran is declaring war on Barbie!  she is just way too Un-Islamic and poses a danger to the health of children.

here is what the AFP reported:

Iran's toy market is being inundated by models of Barbie, Batman, Spiderman and Harry Potter and the young must be protected from their harmful cultural effects, the prosecutor general was quoted as saying on Sunday.

"Promoting figures like Barbie, Batman, Spiderman and Harry Potter and the uncontrolled import of CDs of video games and films should alarm all the country's officials," Ghorban Ali Dori Najafabadi was quoted as saying by the student ISNA news agency.

"We need to find substitutes to ward off this onslaught, which aims at children and young people whose personality is in the process of being formed," he added.

Dori Najafabadi's comments came in a letter to an Iranian vice president, urging measures to protect "Islamic culture and revolutionary values".

While officials regularly lambast Western culture for polluting the minds of the public, Western toys have become a regular and popular feature on the shelves of toy shops in Iran in recent years.

Affluent Iranian parents are known for indulging their children and the purchase of such toys has become for many an obligatory treat.

But Dori Najafabadi said: "These toys, which do not respect the required norms, present dangers for the health of children and affect the survival of toy factories in this country."

Two years ago, police raided toy shops to put black stickers on the packaging of Barbie dolls to hide their bodies. In public in Iran, women must cover all bodily contours, a rule that Barbie conspicuously fails to obey.
take note here:  the Ayatollah Ghorbanali Dorri-Najafabadi was previously the minister of intelligence of islamic republic of Iran.  during his term of ministership, some journalists and reformist politicians were murdered by security agents.

now it's Barbie's turn to be picked on.  stand tall Barbie!

brigitte bardot: freedom fighter

its pretty safe to say that i am not usually supportive of french sex kittens from the 60's, and certainly rarely *coughnevercough* blog about them.

however, brigitte bardot (yes THAT brigitte bardot), from as early as 1997, has been charged and fined five times now with "inciting racial hatred" for comments made about muslims.  the prosecutor is seeking a tougher sentence than usual, saying "I am a little tired of prosecuting Mrs Bardot."

brigitte bardot said this in a recent interview regarding this latest episode to silence her.  read it carefully.  i love it!

"France is home to 5 million Muslims, Europe's largest Muslim community, making up 8 percent of France's population.  I am fed up with being under the thumb of this population which is destroying us, destroying our country and imposing its acts."

the now 73 yo is on trial in france.  she has not attended the trial because she said she was physically unable to.  the verdict is expected in several weeks.

ok. so the definition of "incite" is "to stir, encourage, or urge on; stimulate or prompt to action." expressing one's personal feelings is hardly 'inciting' or encouraging others into action.  unless you live in france.

sarkozy?  change this.  and i still hate france.

stand tall brigitte!

by the way....  brigitte bardot was in a really cute movie with jimmy stewart and billy mumy called "dear brigitte" -- go watch it!!!

Fitna the movie - Graphic!

this movie has some seriously shocking images. it is a movie about the Koran, by Geert Wilders. i could not watch the entire thing, but i'll keep trying. if you have forgotten what terrorism is about, you need to watch this. then you will remember.

Wilders releases controversial film on Islam

(EUX.TV) -- Dutch member of parliament and outspoken Islam critic Geert Wilders on Thursday night posted on the Internet his long-awaited movie 'Fitna' on LiveLeak. The movie is a controversial critique of Islam as a 'fascist' religion.

This afternoon, LiveLeak removed the film after receiving "very serious threats."  issuing this:  “In the end the price was too high.”

though the film has been pulled from LiveLeak, it is still available all over the web.  it's an important piece of work and helps us all to understand exactly what islamofacists are all about. and really all of this seems to prove Wilders point doesn't it?
