political monogamy

there's a new political 527 group thats bringing independent filmmakers together to create edgy online film and video content to support the democratic party, its issues and candidates.  their goal?  "to ensure they win large, viral internet audiences."   um, that's code for the youth vote.

here is the first of 12 videos to be released during the election season:

this is part of an overarching campaign to continue the enfusion of young people into the democratic party by making it seem cool and hip to be one while the republicans are portrayed as old, stale, and definately un-hip.  these filmakers also want to portray being a republican as something to be ashamed of -- like hiding our candidate in a drawer?  good grief.

so from bongs to politically "monogamous" messages -- clever maybe but is this what picking a president in these times is all about?

bongs for barry!

the democrats love to say they're a "big tent" party.  well here's a lovely demonstration of one of the groups in that big tent rallying around their guy, barack obama.  turn up your sound - it's so worth it.

did you miss the words?  here they are:

"put down the bong and vote for obama.
you know you wanna, you know that you gotta."

such a complicated little diddy yet so incredibly compelling.  i  know it makes me want to stand shoulder to shoulder with these fine Americans and vote for barry!  how about you?

a historic primary ends...

so the democrats pick a far-left, inexperienced candidate with marxist roots and his pastor-mentor-father figure is a black liberation theologian who hates America and whitey.

and his wife who would be our first lady?  a tragically ungrateful, angry, and bitter woman.

in a year when the presidency was being offered to them on a silver platter by a disgruntled and war-weary nation...and after 56 hard-fought primary/caucus contests, they just nominated their weakest candidate.

the hero-worship of obama from the far-left has helped to push him past what this time last year looked like a virtual coronation of hillary.

so how will the republicans respond in the next 6 months?  by using democrats' own words and own leaders against this candidate.

check it out:

democrats you're ready for hope and change?   then you better start hoping for a miracle that obama and his bitter half change for the better if you expect them to be elected in November.  and save the hero-worship for people who actually deserve it, like our military.

egads.

UPDATE:  today (6/5/08) one of my cotillion sisters - caltechgirl - penned a "letter to America" regarding this democratic primary.  go check it out because it's a really good blog and sums up the way many feel.   and hey, she's providing the popcorn.

all praise to...IRAN??!?

to think that this woman is 2 heartbeats away from the presidency is simply frightening.

in a recent interview, Nancy Pelosi actually gave thanks to those who helped to bring peace and stability to Iraq.  here is an excerpt:

"Well, the purpose of the surge was to provide a secure space, a time for the political change to occur to accomplish the reconciliation. That didn’t happen. Whatever the military success, and progress that may have been made, the surge didn’t accomplish its goal.

And some of the success of the surge is that the goodwill of the Iranians-they decided in Basra when the fighting would end, they negotiated that cessation of hostilities-the Iranians."
speaker pelosi?  here's just one fact for you:  Iran was responsible for killing at the very least, 170 Americans in Iraq in 2007.  and frankly after such asinine statements coming from someone with so much power and who should know better, i am questioning your patriotism and your sanity!

check it out yourself.  the audio from this Pelosi interview is now posted here.

unbelieveable.  so voter take note:  this is how the leadership of the democratic party thinks.  we know how much they hate the president and now we see just how much they hate america.  so if you vote democratic, you do so at your own peril and put us all at risk.

obama sees dead people

this is delicious.  the gaffe master is now seeing dead people in his audience and the obama campaign actually posted video of this latest obama gaffe on youtube.   sweet!

this time the messiah-in-chief is seeing America's fallen heroes in his audience in new mexico:

alt : http://www.youtube.com/v/WR8YaR3JEkE&hl=en&rel=0&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&border=1

he opens up his Memorial Day speech in las cruces, new mexico:

"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."
dang!  i hope that he didn't see any fallen heroes in the audience - creepy!  would that be like zombie heroes?  just add this to the ever growing list of obama gaffes.

now here is the interesting part...although the video is posted on youtube the gaffe was eliminated from his website -- they removed the "dead people in the audience" from his speech.  check it out here:

"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes, our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."
POOF!  no more dead people...

unless the dead people are from chicago and then you expect them to vote for you.

UPDATE:  because he knows i obsess over zombies and such, i just got this in an email from one of my regular readers --  BIKERDAN -- on how you too can see dead people.  gaffe master?  take note.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A ZOMBIE

Spotting a Zombie can be a difficult task.  Corporate types and most Politicians can easily be mistaken for the Life-Impaired.  Caution and common sense are always the rule when a non life-impaired citizen atempts to:  A)  Identify and   B) Destroy a Zombie.  The following is a list of things to look for when presence of the life-impaired is suspect:

1.  Disheveled Appearance
2.  Unresponsive to Communication
3.  Pale, often Clammy or Decomposing Skin
4.  No Concept of Personal Boundaries
5.  Motivation to Eat the Brains of the Living

so there you have it.  zombies beware -- we got your number.

barry didn't you know? politics is a contact sport

we are in for a long hot summer of temper tantrums from the obama's.

this weekend the Tennessee GOP released a light-hearted video holding michelle obama accountable for scripted remarks she made on two separate occasions on the campaign trail on behalf of her husband presidential race.

and well the obama's are crying again and want the big mean Tennessee GOP to stop it!  their "conversation" with GMA's  Robin Roberts insisting that michelle's comments not be used as political fodder are laughable.

then don't send her out on the campaign trail to make bitter public statements as your chief surrogate senator!  barack obama called the Tennessee GOP “low-class” and “unacceptable” for doing the video.   i don't think so at all but you be the judge:

alt : http://www.youtube.com/v/YmWEaqxkGtU&hl=en&rel=0&color1=0xe1600f&color2=0xfebd01&border=1

barack obama is an inexperienced, un-vetted, far-left Liberal candidate for president on the cusp of receiving the democrats’ nomination.  his words and his record – and the words and records of his surrogates on the campaign trail – will, and should, receive scrutiny.

he and his supporter's constant whine because of criticism and dissent is more then just a bit annoying, it's INCREDULOUS coming from someone who says he can stand up to Iran and North Korea.

for gosh sakes, MAN UP barack and michelle.

my silky pony

well silky pony is back and he is prancing for obama!  woot!

here's the report from the AP:

Democrat John Edwards endorsed former rival Barack Obama on Wednesday, a move designed to help solidify support for the party's likely presidential nominee even as Hillary Rodham Clinton refuses to give up her long-shot candidacy.

Edwards made a surprise appearance with Obama in Grand Rapids, Mich., as the Illinois senator campaigns in a critical general election battleground state.

The endorsement came a day after Clinton defeated Obama by more than 2-to-1 in the West Virginia primary. The loss highlighted Obama's challenge in winning over the "Hillary Democrats" — white, working-class voters who also supported Edwards in significant numbers before he exited the race in late January.

Edwards, who received a thunderous ovation when Obama introduced him to a crowd of several thousand, said, "brothers and sisters, we must come together as Democrats" to defeat McCain. "We are here tonight because the Democratic voters have made their choice, and so have I."
oh really?  an edwards endorsement seems to pull more of the far left leaning loons --- a camp that obama already owns.  silky did significant damage to the blue collar base that he tried to claim by his own hypocritical lifestyle.   but it is fun to see silky pony ride again because it gives me the opportunity to play one of my favorite classic vids.  so grab your popcorn and turn up the sound!

UPDATE:  here is a fun pic from michelle's site.

silky hearts obambi... all for 19 delegates.

dem veep stakes

obama & clinton in '08.  is this dream team or just a bad dream?  this won't happen.  especially since one of the best jokes around is obama better employ a trusted food taster if he picks her for his veep!  here are my thoughts ...

obama's take:  well obama seems quite put out with hillary for a variety of reasons including the fact that he has had the nomination locked up for weeks (i guess he doesn't like end runs!).  he also hates that he should be asked tough questions about his associations like every other candidate (republicans), i mean after all is he not the messiah? obama is also put out that hillary has also played the race card against him numerous times which he thinks is one of the reasons his numbers with white males is in the toity.  and really, he thinks, how can he be a racist??  he's black for gosh sakes!  *coughSHARPTONcough*  *coughJACKSONcough*

hillary's take:  she can't believe this upstart rookie has actually taken THE PRIZE away from her and prevented the clampetts oops i mean clintons from going back where they belong: the White House.  it was to be her coronation after all -- remember?  and then there was that little dust up with bill in south carolina...  i am sure she feels that obama's people are to blame for the loss of respect and esteem for the former president.

but wait!  the flipside?  there is "my precious" -- the gold ring -- the allure of power, history, legacy.  ok the vice presidency.  sometimes this is like the balm of gilead soothing wounds and making the impossible, possible.  click here to see what that sear of ABC politics, george stephanopolis thinks.

so the upshot is the only way obama will put hillary on the ticket is if it was determined he couldn't beat mccain without her.  period.

the best gift for obama would be that obligatory pic of the 2 of them together -- once bitter rivals -- now hands clasped and raised in unity at the convention in denver.  blech.

he'll most likely get that pic.  once he's the official nominee, there will be a hard court press to pull the 2 sides together.  expect clinton's more prominent supporters, like ed rendell, to have prime time speaking slots during the convention.  i also imagine that some clinton staffers will be given high profile positions in obama's campaign as well.  everything will be done to present a totally unified party...

...except making hillary the veep.

the republican players for veep coming soon!

propping up hugo

let me just dive right in...

will no democrat ever pass up a chance to ingratiate themselves with a communist dictator and undermine our foreign policies?  good grief.

when we are just coming down from the incredibly successful middle east "tour with terrorists," by jimmy carter.  pfft.  now bill richardson, governor of new mexico meets with that sulfur-spewing diablo himself, dictator hugo chavez of venezuela.  check out the full story from reuters:

Sun Apr 27

CARACAS (Reuters) - The governor of New Mexico met on Saturday with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in an effort to restart talks with neighboring Colombia to secure the release of hostages held by leftist rebels.

Chavez this year helped free six hostages held for years by the Marxist FARC rebels in Colombia’s four-decade old civil war, but talks have sputtered amid continued bickering between Chavez and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

“I’ve had a good meeting with President Chavez … (he) has told me that he is willing to help in this situation,” Gov. Bill Richardson told reporters after the meeting…

The leftist Chavez and right-wing Uribe
have exchanged bitter accusations throughout the year, even during the hostage release negotiations.

Uribe accuses the self-styled socialist of supporting the FARC rebels, while Chavez says the Colombian leader of advancing Washington’s agenda in the increasingly anti-U.S. Latin American region…

so ok.  maybe gov. richardson is just trying to duplicate his incredible success with getting the North Koreans to disarm.   *cough*

even putting gov. richardson's dangerous behavior aside, amazing how our watchdog media refers to the dictator chavez as a “leftist” and president uribe as “right-wing”?  *cough, cough*

i gotta get something for that cough!

crybabies

of course we all knew they would cry like babies when their candidates were actually asked meaningful and relevant questions at last nights' democratic presidential debate rather then the usual stupid  “do you prefer diamonds or pearls?” non-questions they get.

was it our fault or ABC's fault that hillary and obama stumbled badly on questions regarding their own truthfulness, their own integrity, their own character?

it was not hillary or obama's finest hour.  if you missed the debate, which had an audience of about 10 million, michelle malkin had a terrific live blog you can review here.

after 12 different nationally-televised democratic debates and the lack of policy differences on most topics, what did they think ABC would do -- ask ridiculous questions more suitable for mtv?  to ignore the huge controversies (bosnia, rev. wright, bittergate) that have erupted between the candidates in the last two months would have been ridiculously irresponsible even for a tired, old media.
