known by the company you keep

though a relative newcomer to national politics, much of the country has been bedazzled by the eloquent and charismatic barack obama.  and certainly by now we all know that obama wants us to think of him as the change agent -- that he's hopeful, has sound judgement at 3 am, will take the country in a different direction.

the sun is breaking through the storm clouds as a choir begins to sing...  i digress.  *cough*

i guess it's that "will take the country in a different direction" part that bothers me the most.  so here we go:

obama isn't the uniter we hope for - there's that little irritation called a 20 yr relationship with his anti American pastor ;  obama isn't that pro-american advocate in chief for our country's interests we hope for - there's that equally troubling relationship with an unrepentant terrorist; and obama isn't that 'agent of change' we need - he seems quite easily linked to a crooked indicted political fundraiser named Tony Rezko .  all of this and i haven't even mentioned that he has the most far left votes in the Senate of anyone.  can you say socialism?

he showed his true feelings at a private fundraiser in San Francisco saying condescendingly that many people cling to their religion and guns and are bitter.  his speeches now resemble most other political speeches. he defends himself against attacks and he attacks back -- feeling quite put out that someone would actually call him on inconsistencies.

perhaps obama looks at ayers - the unrepentant terrorist - and really does see an english teacher; looks at Wright - the anti american pastor - and really sees only your average Christian pastor.  if that is so, then the question that needs to be asked of all those bedazzeled by obama is:

are you comfortable with a president who looks at Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and thinks, “oh yeah, he’s that engineering student who was mayor of Tehran”?   yikes.

1 - Yes I think he is not terribly honest. We new nothing about him and now that things like these examples are coming out, he really is suspect and not appropriate to be President. And don't get me started on his tragically ingrateful wife! (Comment this)

2 - Obama was basically allowed by the press and his party to skate into this position. Now we have this big a$$ fight going on in Democrat-land that only benefits the Republicans. I say keep the fight going - ONWARD!

6 - Thanks for reporting. I'm so glad I found your blog. I live across the country in Raleigh, North Carolina and I used to date a crunchy guy from Oregon. We couldn't get along because our lifestyles were so different. Thank god I married a great conservative from here, but I'm so glad to know my feelings about people from Oregon were WRONG! Perhaps you would like to exchange links.

The guy who wrote comment number five is uninformed. We are trying to give Obama a fair fight by bringing out people who he associates with.

Down here in the south, my mom had a saying: "Katy, you are who you associate with." She is right and it's too bad Barry Obama didn't get the same message.

He needs to be held accountable to these people. That IS a fair fight. For example, the NC GOP is RIGHT to tie the two gubernatorial candidates who have endorsed Obama, to his associations. They have to know what they have done. They figured Obama would take the North Carolina primary, and they both decided to ride along on his coattails. Now, our GOP, is making them pay. What is wrong with that? How is this racial? If Obama's pastor gives a "sermon" that says GD America, which was NOT taken out of context, how is that RACIST??????

If McCain went to a church where the minister trashed black people, that would be a different story. I know there aren't many black people in Oregon, but down here, we are considered a "black" state because about 1/3 of our voters are black.

Thanks,

7 - Zoey, I encourage you to take another look at Bill Ayers... What I have found on my own about him is much different from what I've been hearing from most news outlets. (Comment this)
