running for messiah-in-chief

when you're running for messiah-in-chief, it's not an easy time for anyone in the family.  while "barack-star" is the 'iphone of politics', michelle - his wife - well, not so much.

this week in milwaukee, she said:  “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”

video of michelle obama's remarks in some context can be found here.

so help me out... only her husband’s run for president has made her proud of America?

*coughnarcissisticcough*

this woman is 44 years old so not winning the cold war and tearing down 'that' wall made her proud of America?  not the fact that this country feeds and defends the entire world?  not the fact that each time a national election is held here a regular and orderly transition of power is conducted?  not that we lead the world in science and technology research?  not the fact that we help out generously everywhere in the world when disasters occur?  not that this country elected it's first black president, bill clinton, in 1992? (hehe)  and not even the heroes of 9/11 made her proud of America?

*coughselfabsorbedcough*

ok let me try again... how about the fact that both she and her husband, both raised in middle class educated homes, had ivy league educations at princeton and harvard?  what about the fact that they have had extremely lucrative careers as attorneys affording them the luxury of living in a beautiful home in the 'burbs and sending those adorable daughters to private school?

nothing has made michelle obama proud of her country in her entire adult life???  how sad and how incredibly ungrateful.  and you want to be our first lady?  oy.  next step for the bride of messiah is a "clarification tour" i suppose.

this couple is creepy.

UPDATE:  here is an interesting article regarding Michelle Obama's background and upbringing... not quite the sharecropper's daughter she would have one to believe on the stump.

el presidente no mas!

did you hear the great news that fidel castro is no longer going to be el presidente of Cuba? how courteous of him to resign after a bloody revolucion 49 years ago.  frankly his person has been m.i.a. for about 1 1/2 years now.  all the media have shown of him is this zombie-like figure moving his arms around to prove there is still breath in him  -- the living dead so to speak.  in his honor, Val Prieto at Babalu Blog posted the perfect symbol of his presidency, the "castro zombie doll" and of course i added one of my favorite zombie pics for effect!

too bad his communistic blood sucking policies are still in place through his "younger" brother Raul, age 76.

4 - So is every candidate and their spouses supposed to be perfect with every comment? I mean are you perfect in everything you say? Why don't you cut her some slack. She probably didn't mean it the way it sounded. It probably came out wrong and she simply was trying to tie it to this whole "Change" theme they have going. She isn't the candidate he is. And believe me she is alot better speaker then George Bush and all of his gaffes.

5 - hi JR. actually she puts herself out there as a surrogate for her husband the candidate so she is in effect "him" when he isn't available. also this woman wants to be the First Lady and represent our interests in all sorts of venues throughout the world. you bet it matters what she says and when she says it. her husband isn't running for dog catcher rather leader of the free world. she needs to be better then this. and she sure should be be proud of this country. (Comment this)

7 - Zoey I agree. These people are socialists masking as yuppies. We need to work hard to rebuild the conservative movement by concentrating on local issues -- I fear this election we will be creamed.
