cocky thy name is obama

maybe the glow is started to fade a wee bit when late night comedians mock.  here is david letterman's top 10 list from tuesday night:

conservatives have villages too

we all know that bo and mo are all about saving the children --  um, except these children:

this is a picture of the OBAMA KOGELO SCHOOL in kogelo, kenya.  it is re-named after barack obama and it is in the village where bo's father and grandfather are buried.  in fact 10 of the 44 students are bo's relatives!

on july 26, 2008, the evening standard reported that although barack obama promised his kenyan family members and villagers that he would assist them with their school, he has not kept his pledge.  maybe he was simply too busy planning his worldwide magical media tour...

the school is in serious need.  so after following this, juliette @ baldilocks, one of my cotillion sisters and of kenyan decent herself, decided to step up and help.  she has set up a non-profit called "Save the Senator Obama Kogelo School, Inc."  the goal is to simply help this important place for alot of kids that was obviously used by bo then forgotten.

here are juliette's thoughts on all this project will entail.  and the good news?  you can help by making a donation right here right now!  even small amounts help.

be a part of saving the kogelo school.

moonbats and anarchists in denver

it seems the anarchists, planning to cause mayhem and foolishness in denver, will go away if the moonbat democratic national convention will give them a payoff of about $50 million.  specifically they want the $50 million given to the city of denver for convention security (protection from most of THEM mind you) to be put back into the community instead.

how noble.  read the story here.

Spending $50 million on weaponry to attack people voicing their opinion and flooding the streets with riot police while schools close down, children go without health care and people lose their homes is exactly the problem with the corrupt two-party system we’re opposing this August,” said Clayton Dewey, an organizer (code for ANARCHIST) with "Unconventional Denver."

do you really think anarchists care about health care and losing homes?  i think not especially when they are distroying businesses during their violent militant rants and tirades that  provide health care and paychecks to employees and their families.  this is a shakedown to avoid terrorism.

can you imagine if some right wing group tried this?  actually its hard to imagine a right wing group having militants.

'charismatic men who preach change'

yep.  we've seen charasmatic young guys before who "preach change" to the masses and woo a nation.  we've also seen the after effects.  check out this letter written by manual alvarez jr. that's been making the rounds on the internet and now it's in youtube of course!

10 reasons why obambi is creepy

you gotta love rick moran.  here's his list of the top 10 things that creep him out about obama.  it's pretty comprehensive.

and i would add only one thing that he mentions only briefly and that's obambi's tendency to treat his rallies like they are big southern tent revivals or something!  when he uses language like "lift this nation" or "heal this nation"  it's creepy to me because i think he is believing his own press or something about being the obamamessiah.  here's a newsflash:  obama is not a god-like figure people.  he is not saint and he is not a soul fixer-uper.

move away from that.  that's just creepy.

file under "bomb at the box office"

here is the trailer for the oliver stone movie "W"...

yep, that's barbra streisand's  ("bs" as rush would say) son-in-law playing president bush.  probably those who suffer from the tragedy of bush derangement syndrome will go see the movie.  everyone else won't and like all the other hate bush/hate america movies, it will go to dvd sooner rather then later because it bombed at the box office.

and because i know you've missed her, here is bs herself in a recent interview on the upcoming election and obambi.

who will jmac pick?

so all last week we heard rumors that john mccain would be announcing his choice for vice presidential running mate very soon and my thought was that it was just that -- a rumor -- necessary to try to blunt all of the buzz obambi was getting on his magical media tour.  but according to this report, jmac has his short list shortened to 6 potentials and they are:

  • Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty;
  • Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell;
  • Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney;
  • Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin;
  • U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Conn; and
  • Former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge.

and of course i have some thoughts!

boo on lieberman and ridge -- nice but not conservative.

boo on powell -- though i have always admired him, i think he has played a disloyal game of politics since leaving the white house even to the point of allowing rumors to spread that he might be obambi's running mate.  i don't like that.

palin and pawlenty -- both have merit.  they would definately jazz up jmac's anemic campaign - palin more so i think.  i wouldn't MIND them but i am not thoroughly convinced that they are conservative enough for me.  but i don't count, mccain does.  i do prefer palin over pawlenty.

romney -- i couldn't hardly stand during the primary but i think he earned my respect as time went on.  i also think he's smart and not afraid to come out swinging as demonstrated a few times on the stump for mccain.  i also would trust him to be president if something happened to mccain while in office.  i can't say that about any of the others sadly.

all i know is that mccain needs to hit a homerun with his choice and i don't know at this point in the game who realistically that would or could be so i think palin.  newt says no more boring white guys.  maybe he is right.  my preferred candidate and running mate aren't in the mix but since it's the weekend, i'm going there:

jeb bush/rick santorum!

wistful sigh.  humor me people.
