too many steroids, way too much botox

why did chuck norris act like a donkey's behind last night on Hannity & Colmes (foxnews channel)?  so he's a huckabee supporter.  cool.  but, if you are out there stumping, be intelligent.  here is one of many of his silly whines from last night...

chuck asks, implicitly - repeatedly, “Where would Romney be today if not for all his dough?”

but since there’s no way to figure that out factually without separating his wealth from the career that earned it, it’s like asking “Where would Romney be if he were a totally different person?”  lame chuck.  besides, the lament here isn’t about romney so much as it is the perceived effect of saturation advertising on voters — which is itself a stupid counterfactual, tantamount to “Why do people have to react to ads like well, um people?” while ignoring the fact that the policies being promoted in those ads may have really little to no impact on voters.

hannity’s comeback: a fatally weak candidate can’t buy an election, which is why we never had a President Perot and we’ll probably never have (God willing) a President Bloomberg.

hense, support your candidate, chuck, on issues.  don't whine because your man has less $$ then someone else.  it makes you look petty and uninformed and well, like you are losing.

dang.  how dare romney be successful.  that’s just so unfair. *cough*

the vast right-wing conspiracy is 10!

time really flies when you're having fun doesn't it?

on Sunday, January 27, the infamous vast right-wing conspiracy will be 10 years old.  actually this is an important political anniversary albeit one that is scorned on the left and embraced on the right.  ten years ago this is what hillary clinton said to matt lauer on the today show:

"This is the great story here for anybody willing to find and write about it and explain it is this vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president."

i suppose hillary really expected thinking americans to believe that this so-called cabal out there was capable of a great  and mystical power -- a silent, faceless, underground group whose sole mission was to distroy America and all held dear.

the truth of course is different.  the "vast Right-wing conspiracy" lives and thrives today.  it includes tens of millions of intelligent, thinking Americans who have systematically been marginalized, demonized, and completely defamed in the public debate and culture.  we actually have a voice now -- a strong one -- in the form of talk radio, cable tv, incredible conservative authors and thinkers, and the blogosphere just to name a few.

after Ronald Reagan of course, so much links back to Rush.  he is "the voice" that pulled us all together, taught us, empowered us.  soon we had many other "voices" who have their own minds,  panders to no faction, and stands up to the critics.  this is hardly the stuff of secret groups plotting and planning the distruction of a couple of amoral politicians from Arkansas and their cronies.

its hard to believe its been a full decade of bitter accusations, silly snipings, and paranoia.  if your not with "them" you most certainly are against them.  and its always someone else's fault.  isn't it ironic that during this birthday week, "they" are once again involved in a bitter accusation campaign with obama and many in the party they led so proudly are rising up against their dirty tricks?

oh well.  happy birthday to me, me, me!  and of course to all my fellow conspirators, i raise my glass.

35 years -- an update

yesterday was the 35th anniversary of the March for Life in Washington DC.  here is a picture from the actual march.  thousands participated and no coverage of any note in the mainstream media....  no surprise.

get the tin foil hat

it's even hard to type...

a great conservative, Duncan Hunter, who recently withdrew from the presidential race has endorsed Huckabee.  here is part of the press release:

California Rep. Duncan Hunter, a former presidential candidate, announced Wednesday he is endorsing Mike Huckabee’s White House bid.

“I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail,” Huckabee said in a statement. “Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China’s emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of America’s industrial base.

“Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee’s candidacy that compels my endorsement,” he added. “Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well.”

this just doesn't seem to fit with Hunter's strong national defence, border control, and China issues.  The man who wants his foreign policy driven by the golden rule is the man to tame the Chinese dragon?  there must be more to this...

the last true conservative

well fred is now out.

i remember when the rumors of a possible fred thompson run were starting to circulate.  how excited i was about the prospect of it all.  and then came the long protracted non-announcement....  when will he announce?  when will he announce?  when, for goodness sakes, will he announce???!?

a lack luster slow-moving campaign; a low energy candidate...

the anticipation of a fred thompson run was far more exciting then an actual fred thompson run.  sadly.

so now what?  maybe fred will assume the much needed role of guardian of true conservatism --- similarly to the role ronald reagan had before his presidency.  clearly some need a voice to remind them of what conservatism is and isn't.  that conservatism is not fluid and changeable but rather solid like a rock.  we sorely need that voice right now (and fred speaks on conservatism beautifully) as certain gop presidential candidates try desparately to morph the concept to reflect their own very moderate positions.   *coughmccaincough*  *coughhuckabeecough*

i gotta get something for that cough...

he's out

just as a side note:  jack bauer aka kiefer sutherland is out of jail after doing 48 days for a 2nd dui conviction.  that seems like an incredible amount of time served considering all the bimbos who served just a few minutes -- britney spears and nicole richie just to name 2.

actually maybe its just the right time served when you consider it was driving drunk.

simply put, it's about saving lives

an unborn baby's heart begins to beat 18 days after conception, and her fingerprints are completely established during the 4th week of development in her mother's womb.  she sucks her thumb 7 weeks after conception and sometime between 9 & 10 weeks, this preborn sweetie squints, swallows, and moves her tongue.

its been said that if wombs had windows women would be far more likely to carry their babies to full term.

so have you heard of the Psalm 139 Project?  the Southern Baptist Convention is spearheading the project to purchase and place sonogram machines in every pregnancy resource center around the country.  these machines are very expensive and the centers do not have the funds to purchase the equipment or personnel to read the outputs. 100% of the funds raised go to securing and administrating these "windows into the womb".  it is the hope of the Psalm 139 Project to save babies' lives.

if you want more information on this go here: http://www.sbc.net/redirect.asp?url=http://www.erlc.com

"for you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb...i was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body."  psalm 139:13-16

redefining conservatism?

i have been listening to talk radio this afternoon abit and a few notable conservatives including newt gingrich have been giving signals saying that maybe its time to redefine what conservatism is and to fine tune it for a new generation. excuse me?  good grief!  the principles of conservatism are timeless such as:

1.  small government  - "WE have a government not the other way around" (Ronald Reagan)
2.  lower taxes - trusting the american taxpayer to make the best decisions on how to spend their $$
3.  strong national defense -- including our borders i might add
4.  life is a God given right
5.  the Constitution means what it says....  it doesn't need periodical tweeking to keep up with the times.

and these are just a few!  redefining conservatism to make room for a weak slate of republican candidates is disturbing at best.  wouldn't it be better to force aka strongly suggest the candidates rise to the occasion?

don't forget:

and there is this one...

and then of course my favorite...

stand tall.
